Over the coming weeks, we're going to be putting online a four-track Githead radio session for your listening pleasure. The first track, My LCA is online now—get it from the downloads page.
Check out the downloads page for a little taste of Githead's live show—a video of the band playing Option Paralysis at The Garage.
The gigs and gallery sections of the site have had a major overhaul, the latter now being split into a number of date-specific pages, each with a number of photos. If you find any broken links, please let us know. Also, as an added bonus, the My LCA video has been added to the downloads page, so check it out!
Unfortunately, due to circumstances beyond our control we have had to pull the the Rome date. Sorry to all Italian friends who were waiting for that one. Meanwhile there will be a lot of updates to the site in the coming days.
Githead is making available through PostEverything, for the first time ever and in perilously limited quantities, the official Githead t-shirt. Not only is this fashionably black shirt tastefully emblazoned with the band's trademark 'GIT -' logo, in CMYK yellow and RGB red, BUT it's also the band's official stage wear, as elegantly modelled on their recent European outing. Get it HERE
As you may have noticed, the Githead website was doing strange things over the past few days. This is because we were moving hosts. This transition is now complete, which also means that over the next couple of weeks we'll be adding new desktops and MP3s to the site... Stay tuned!
The club which Githead were to play in Cork has been sold. The new owner has sacked the booker and is not honouring any dates. The band's sympathies go out to anyone who was looking forward to this show which we obviously cannot play now. On the positive side a last minute special date has been added on the 22nd September at Grasland studio in Haarlem, Netherlands. This will be a unique chance to see Githead play in an environment closer to a recording studio than a club.
Israeli news media have already broken the story that the surprise guest in the Tel Aviv gig will be Berry Sakharov who will need no introduction to Israeli audiences. Maybe he can be persuaded to wear one of the 'git' shirts to be unveiled during the tour?
Githead's Asian debut at the Barby Club in Tel Aviv has been moved back one day to Saturday, 17th September. Githead will also be welcoming a surprise guest. Watch this space for more news.
Githead have recorded another radio session, this one being a co-host for Totally Radio/ Juice FM with Claire Kember recorded in the in the exotic location of studio git (otherwise known as swim studio). The hour long show features live in the studio versions of My LCA & Craft is Dead as well as copious chat & banter from the band, egged on by Claire, and a selection of personal choices (including at least one exclusive) from the band member's own catalogue. The show will be available on Totally Radio on Fri 29th July, Sat 30th July and Sunday 31st July and broadcast on Juice FM at 107.2 in Brighton, UK on Sunday 31st July. A further two songs Option Paralysis and Profile were also recorded which will appear in a later show. Claire will give details on her show which is, in any case, always worth checking out.
Githead's occasional and perfectlty formed newsletter is now archived on this site, giving everyone who hasn't signed up the chance to see what they are missing!
As of this week the official Githead website now resides at www.githead.com. Links to githead.co.uk and any of it's pages still find us but you might like to update your bookmarks.
The XFM session mentioned below is now available for streaming on the XFM website.
On June 21 Githead recorded a special summer-solstice four-song live session (Fake Corpses, Alpha, My LCA, Antiphon) at XFM's Leicester Square studios for John Kennedy's X-Posure XFM show. It appears our subscription forms weren't working correctly when the site launched today, but they've now been fixed (10pm UK time). If you subscribed earlier than this, please re-subscribe to ensure you're on the list. Thanks!
Githead will be part of a celebration of the career of legendary French rock star Alain Bashung, taking place at La Cite De la Musique in Paris on June 29. Colin worked on Bashung's Novice album in the 1990s. Tickets are €22.
